This year marks the beginning of the new LANS. We are building on our 25 years of experience training, mentoring, and inspiring young scholars at our annual research conference to include a Career Development Workshop tailored for graduate students, postdocs, and an opportunity for faculty to receive ongoing guidance on grantsmanship through Grant Writing Coaching Groups.
The culminating event of the Summer Research program is the LANS Research Conference, where ongoing professional development, mentoring and networking occurs among the Alliance family of undergraduates, graduate students, our doctoral scholars, faculty, and administrators.
This one-day BioMedical Career Development Workshop provides participants with guidance for pursuing careers in academia, and the public and private sectors. Attendees build on their skills by creating an elevator pitch, improving their CV/resume, and expanding their network of colleagues, mentors and role models.
The Leadership Alliance collaborated with Dr. Rick McGee to sponsor NIH Grant Writing Coaching Groups. These groups of biomedical faculty are formed at LANS, where they are assigned a coach. Following LANS, the groups continue to meet to support each other in proposal development and submission.
